What IS the Summer of Recovery Tour?

On June 6 , we kick off the 2025 Summer of Recovery Tour, a series of festival-style events in 5 cities in Indiana. Each event features live music from the Two Eight band, guest speakers, a DJ, and opportunities for people to connect with local mental health and addiction recovery resources.

Sponsored by Indiana’s Division of Mental Health and Addiction, our tour is designed to celebrate recovery, inspire hope, build upon Indiana’s already engaging recovery culture, and help lay the groundwork for new sustainable recovery events in key regions of the state.

In 2024, there were 1544 overdose deaths in Indiana, the majority of which were from opioids. Many thousands of people struggle to find freedom in their mental health and addiction recovery journeys. By partnering with Two Eight to produce these events, the State hopes to bring awareness, connect people to recovery resources, and proclaim the message that recovery is possible.

On stage, we create a fun event in an open, public setting where people can enjoy music, dance, and hear speakers in a family-friendly environment. Off stage, though, is where the really good stuff happens – connection & community. A phrase we hear frequently is “The opposite of addiction is not recovery…it’s connection. Each event has a large area where local organizations and resource providers can display their information and let people know where to find the next steps on their recovery journey, right there in their community.

Because faith is one of many pathways to recovery, we have the freedom to share our faith along with the other recovery pathways. We hope to see people move into recovery – and then go from recovery to redemption. Along with being the ‘house band’, Two Eight provides all of the technical production for the events. It is a LOT of work to put together, but it has become one of the most strategic projects of our year, and we’re looking forward to it!

PLEASE pray for us over the next couple of months! Pray that we can execute the events well, connect people who are hurting to resources they need (including Jesus!), and make strategic connections with the organizations we’re serving.
